Arundhati  ROY अरुणधती राय


 Arundati Roj (Arundhati Roy) je indijska spisateljica i borac za ljudska prava. Rođena je 24. novembra 1961. u Šilongu (Shillong), u indijskoj državi Megalaja (Meghalaya). Počela je da se bavi pisanjem 1992. godine, a četiri godine kasnije je objavila svoj prvi roman The God of Small Things (Bog malih stvari)  koji je 1997. dobio Bukerovu (Booker) nagradu i postao međunarodni bestseler. Istovremeno se posvetila društvenom aktivizmu. Angažovala se u borbi protiv kontroverznog projekta izgradnje brane Narmada i žestoko kritikovala indijski nuklearni program kao i američku spoljnu politiku optužujući je da teži ka stvaranju globalne američke imperije.
